Dear John,

After falling off the horse and crushing a few vertebrae, I never thought I would reach this point. I just wanted to let you know that I spent last weekend skiing in Vermont. I was able to keep up with my uber-athlete friends and only had the usual first day of the season aches and pains on Monday! I was very satisfied with the treatment offered at TheraMAX for my shoulder and deltoid area. John was clear with me as to what the purpose of each treatment and exercise was. I was pushed to do as much as I was capable of doing, but not to overextend myself. New exercises were added as my condition improved. I also got a series of exercises to do at home.

I was comfortable that the staff was monitoring my progress and cared about my rehab. They were also flexible with appointment timing so I didn't have to interrupt my work schedule.

I had shoulder surgery due to a torn bicep. During my PT sessions with John my range of motion and strength returned to the point that I could continue the sport (boxing) that I used to do before the injury.

Dare I say my experience was phenomenal. I am walking, and walking so well. My injury was so severe, I wasn’t sure I would walk, (and walk normally) again. John is kind and very patient. However, he will push you , as he should. John is so knowledgeable about the human body, how it works and what one needs to get it working again. After shoulder surgery I needed physical therapy a friend recommended TheraMAX. I've had physical therapy before but this was different, John McKillop was very attentive and thorough with my PT treatment. He was always available for advice during my treatment or by phone if a problem arose at home. I never felt that I was just one patient among many. My shoulder is completely recovered!!!

I had spinal laminectomy surgery in June of 2018. Tying my shoe laces was nearly impossible, rolling over in bed was very difficult, walking a distance was very hard. After months of physical therapy with John my life has completely turned around. I can now do all the things that I could not do. When I first came in for therapy my back was in a lot of pain. Simple motions hurt and I felt very limited. After the very first day I could feel improvement, and that I was able to do more things with no pain. These last few sessions, the weight was bumped up and that’s when I started to feel little to no pain. Coming here was very helpful and progressive.

In a letter to his therapist...

During our telephone conversation concerning my recent labyrinthitis attack, you attributed my dizziness to crystals of calcium carbonate moving to areas where they do not belong. My daughter in law, a Physical Therapist, relayed to me a experience that she had with her dizziness. She went to a fellow PT who specializes in vertigo problems, had a procedure performed on her (the Epley maneuver I believe) and amazingly all symptoms disappeared. She also gave me an eight page article on Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV).

I went to the Vestibular Disorders Association web site and got the name of a Physical Therapist who is trained in performing in-office BPPV Maneuvers, John McKillop. I made an appointment and went to see him, that was one week ago.

I was really impressed by John's knowledge of the subject, the diagnoses procedures he performed, and his thoroughness. He performs the procedure three or four times a week and gained my confidence right away. I followed the post treatment suggestions that included sleeping in a sitting position for two nights and on the four day he called to see how I was doing.

Well I'm doing fine. Last night I slept in a horizontal position and no hint of dizziness.

When I first came here my lower back hurt and I was unable to play sports and run. I was very depressed and thought that things wouldn't get better. However as things progressed and I was shown what exercises I could do to improve my back I was starting to feel better. After about a month my lower back was almost as good as new. Thanks to John I have regained my resilience and the ability to play sports and run. I am very thankful for John McKillop's help and receptiveness.
